Wing/Hemstitch needles have a single ‘wing’ blade on the side of the needle which cuts a narrow hole in the fabric. This is a popular style for decorative stitching for heirloom sewing or to use as a base for crotchet or tatting egings.

The size of the needle is measured in mm from tip to tip (2 mm space b/t the points in a size 2 twin needle). The needles come in a variety of types and sizes.
