Wing/Hemstitch needles have a single ‘wing’ blade on the side of the needle which cuts a narrow hole in the fabric. This is a popular style for decorative stitching for heirloom sewing or to use as a base for crotchet or tatting egings.

Twin needles are used for practical & decorative sewing such as pintucks, seam finishes, topstitching.
