Organic fabrics and threads are growing in popularity as individuals become more eco-conscience. Organic fabrics and threads are produced in accordance with organic standards. This means that the fibre farming and production methods are closely monitored and grown using seeds that are not genetically modified. There has been a trend towards more eco-friendly products around the home, and as we stock some organic products, we wanted to share them with you.  

Sew Easy 100% Cotton Organic thread 200m

The Sew Easy Organic threads are made from 100% organic cotton grown without the use of synthetic chemicals. Some organic cotton growers may use natural crop management and protection to assist in the production of the cotton. 

The Sew Easy Organic 100% cotton thread is all-purpose thread suitable for a wide range of fabrics and purposes. It’s available in 21 colours to pair with the fabrics in your projects.

100% Organic Cotton Poplin

A piece of fabric is only truly organic when not only is the cotton grown organically, but every step of the process in the manufacture of the fabric is done organically too. That is, no contamination with other fibre must cross over into the organic fibres. When a fabric is organic, the tables and manufacturing equipment must be cleaned to remove the other fibres to prevent cross-contamination.  This is exactly the case with our 100% Organic Cotton fabric.

This fabric has been prepared for dying and is a great foundation for many products. It is 145cm wide and available on the roll or cut to length as required.

Organic eco-certified Linen 100%

Our eco-certified organic linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant, which is one of the strongest natural fibres. As well as being very long the flax fibres are also very firm which meals that linen fabric holds its shape well. Linen is popular for its use in clothing, tablecloths, napkins, tea towels and handkerchiefs.

An advantage of linen is that it conducts heat well. It carries away heat from the body, making it cool to wear for even in the heat of summer. The natural linen fibre does crease easily due to the rich oil content. 

Our 100% eco-certified linen fabric is very durable, and it is highly absorbent and resistant to sunlight. Our linen is also machine washable. Available colours are Oatmeal, Olive, Silver Marle, Steel Grey, Red, Black, Cream, White, Natural and Navy.
