Rasant is a 50% Polyester and 50% Cotton core spun thread.  The construction of this thread is a polyester core with cotton wrap.  The polyester core gives the thread strength while the cotton wrap make the thread soft and smooth.

This means the thread is very robust for sewing a number of applications such as  – Closing and topstitch of seams,

      – Matt machine embroideries

      – Quilting applications.

It is the preferred thread of some popular sewing machine brands.
